For a period of over 500 years, ancient Egyptian kings and rulers were buried in tombs in the Valley of the Kings.  63 tombs and chambers are currently known, including recent discoveries in 2005 and 2008.  The tombs range in size from simple rooms to complexes containing over 120 rooms!
