The Todaiji Temple, a Buddhist complex in Nara, Japan, is the world's largest wooden building.  It's listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site and is home to the Kegon school of Buddhism.  It also houses the absolutely massive, famous, Buddha Vairocana bronze statue.
