The Badlands Guardian
Tranquil (01/21/2009) Crazy, I like Alberta. Ruby (10/01/2009) The Badlands Guardian may look just like a human head with an Indian headress. Visible only from the air, this so called optical illusion is in fact a drainage feature created by wind & water erosion on the soft clay rich soil. shafty (10/02/2009) Reminds me a bit of the face they found on mars (are we doing mars satellite images here?). If its a natural formation then i suppose the face on Mars is as well - except Mars doesnt have any water does it? Wiki Page for Badlands Guardian - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Badlands_Guardian Charles (11/03/2009) This is supposed to be a natural formation? Yeah, just like the crop circles just naturally appear over night. Is it possible someone is trying to tell us something? jeff (11/21/2010) someone is trying to feed us all a bunch of bullshit. there is no way this is natural. if this is natural, then it should be a wonder of the natural world and pushed hard by our government to be recognized as such. not to mention a world destination. have they? no, in fact it is almost like it never existed. if it is man made, which it is without question, then why is there no scientific data at all. no one has even acknowledged that the damn thing even exists for Christ sakes. it is being ignored for some strange reason. steve (11/25/2010) Jeff that could be a natural formation. If you zoom out and look at some of the other shapes, they all look like something. But i will admit, the Guardian does stand out. But if its not natural, then who carved it and why? Samuel Perez (12/16/2010) A higher resolution image of the Face of Mars has shown that it is indeed a natural formation like this one. In fact, this one is far more impressive. shannon (02/23/2011) So I went on google maps with the coordinates to see if it's just a fake photo and it is there, to the East of Medicine Hat. Very very cool! Judith Munns (04/23/2011) To Jeff: Did you know that this is only recently discovered? I don't believe anyone had any idea it was there before Super Granny discovered it with Google Earth. As for it being a 'natural' formation: Get Real! There is far too much detail in the eye, eyebrow, cheek, chin and neck, for it to not to have been created with intelligence and talent, and a good eye for detail! The shading is perfect. Another wonder is the 'coincidental' placement of the well at the exact ear canal! I love it, and the surrounding area, too... If you look closely, you can see the guardian has some half-done companions! Give the government or some enterprising individuals time, and someone will find a way to capitalize on it, I'm sure. Problem is -- this is not viewable from the ground! bo (06/15/2011) The ear canal is actually a gas well... this formation is natural minus the ear canal. I think it's quite impressive Mike B (08/31/2011) This is a natural formation. Jeff have you never seen unusual shapes or patterns in everyday things. It is recognised human behaviour to do this, particularly to imagine/identify faces. Why must people jump to conclusions or invent conspiracy theories when they see something unusual or something they don't understand. |
