Sailsbury Crags
beldoy (10/09/2009) The Salisbury Crags looks down on Edinburgh. It is Situated in Holyrood Park, southeast of Princes Street, the Salisbury Crags are the glaciated remains of a Carboniferous sill, formed between the rocks which formed in a shallow sea some 340 million years ago. The Glaciers were sweeping outwards from the centre of Scotland and have left the classic 'crag and tail' look, descending gently towards Whinny Hill. Salisbury Crags are of great significance in the development of modern geology. |
