Palm Jumeirah (Palm Islands)

Palm Jumeirah is the first of the three Palm Islands, the world's largest land reclamation project.  Upon completion, the islands will host numerous residential and commercial developments.  They're constructed from sand dredged from the ocean floor.  The outer ring is a rock breakwater.  The islands have been open to preliminary tenants since 2006.
