Istana Nurul Iman is the official palace of the Sultan of Brunei, who was at one time the richest man in the world. According to Wikipedia, the 2,152,782 square feet palace features:

  • 1788 rooms
  • 257 bathrooms
  • 5 pools
  • air conditioned horse stables
  • 110-car garage
  • 4000 guest banquet hall
  • mosque
  • 564 chandeliers
  • 51,000 light bulbs
  • 44 stairwells and 18 elevators

Google satellite image are almost solely responsible for public knowledge regarding the palace, as it is almost always closed to the outside.

Zooming in to investigate is pretty entertaining. It's drastically different from the Indiana I'm used to ;)
