Estadio Nacional de Chile, Santiago
mattsanger92 (01/29/2010) The Estadio National de Chile, in Santiago, Chile, is a 65,000-capacity football stadium and the home of the Chile national team, along with local club side Universidad de Chile. It is notable for hosting the final of the 1962 FIFA World Cup, a tournament hosted by the Chileans. The stadium is also notable for a bizzare international match in the 1970's, in which the hosts were due to play the USSR, who (by choice) did not show up. The referee chose to let Chile walk the ball into the open goal before ending the match by forefit. |
