Angkor Wat, the world's largest religious structure, is a 12th century landmark. It was used as a temple and capital city by King Suryavarman. Although the surrounding site contains numerous temples and structures, Angkor Wat is the most well-preserved and certainly the largest. The religious importance has changed through the centuries, first for Hindus, then Buddhists, and others. Zooming and panning the image will reveal numerous other structures.
