Seeing Rainbows

When creating satellite images, there can occasionaly be a few errors with the technology involved in recording this.

An example of this can be seen when a ‘lens flare’ appears, and causes part of the picture to produce what seems to be a spectrum of colours, or a bright light, ‘exploding’ from an object or random point. Below are a few examples of the lens flare error, and one which seems to work the other way, leaving a black rectangle in the snow for all to see:
