Technology
SatelliteSights provides a fresh and unique interface for viewing virtual locations, as well as a state-of-the-art backend platform. Each system (maps, photos, etc.) are switchable on the page without requiring a refresh (Javascript driven). Content is also viewable through downloadable Google Earth KML files, by individual post, category, location, or site-wide.
We include an extensive cities/regions/countries database for reverse-geocoding. In laymen’s terms, posts’ closest city and country are automatically identified through their latitude and longitude. This creates consistency and ease for contributors.
We look forward to growing and improving the site with the help of our members
